Stacy Burcham entered USC on a trumpet scholarship in August of 1995. As a trumpet performance major, Ms. Burcham would enjoy playing in Thornton’s Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Film Scoring rotations, and would also march in the Trojan Marching Band. In the Spring of 1996, Ms. Burcham co-founded USC’s premier a cappella group, the SoCal VoCals. Performing with the VoCals, she discovered her passion for creating and teaching from within a group. Ms. Burcham went on to serve as the musical director, and vocal arranger, and as producer on several award-winning albums. Notably, the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) has awarded the SoCal VoCals four consecutive championship titles and Ms. Burcham six “Best Arrangement” titles – an ICCA record. Ms. Burcham graduated from Thornton with her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education, a teaching credential, and a dual emphasis in trumpet and vocal performance (opera and musical theater).
Ms. Burcham has dedicated 16 years to public school education, teaching music at the elementary, middle, and high school level. Her arrangement of The Star Spangled Banner has been featured at home games for the Lakers, Clippers, Kings, and Trojans, as well as at the 2008 Democratic National Debate. Ms. Burcham has performed live with Kristin Chenoweth, Roger Daltry, Jeremy Irons, John Lithgow, Adam Marcello, Carson Cohen, Kyle Gass, Lea Michele, Fred Willard, and Josh Groban in events at the Hollywood Bowl, Greek Theater, and Anaheim Convention Center Arena. As a session musician, Ms. Burcham has collaborated with Gabriel Mann (Modern Family), James Snyder (If/Then), Jeremy Silver (Miner), John Spiker (Tenacious D) Ross Golan (Maroon5, Justin Bieber), AJ Jackson (Saint Motel) and Molly Bryant. As an actress, Ms. Burcham has appeared in several notable television and film projects, most recently for Storage Wars, BuzzFeed, and Neon Trees. She remains a frequent adjudicator for the ICCA.
